Simulated Shoot Experiences

Enjoy a variety of simulated shoot experiences. We have packages for novices which include tuition, a half day or full days which include delicious food, refreshments and a mix of simulated game drives across the estate. You can expect to shoot over hedges, grassland, water and in woodland all entirely within the Dedham Vale National Landscape. The shoot season starts in September and runs until June.

The Estate Day

Simulated Shoot includes:

• 5 drives across the Estate: shooting over hedges, grassland, water and in woodland
• Breakfast & Lunch at the Shoot Barn
• Range of hot and cold refreshments throughout the day

Pricing depends on your food and wine choices and lunchtime preference.
We are happy to host lunch on the Estate or book a local restaurant or pub.

Please advise us in advance if you have any dietary requirements and/or allergies.
Non-shooting guests are also welcome. (£60 + VAT supplement per guest). 

Example itinerary:

08:30 – Sausage and bacon butties, tea and coffee.
08:45 – Safety Briefing – draw pegs, stock up on cartridges and receive your Langham Hall Estate cap.
09:00 – Board the gun bus for the first three drives – refreshments are on board.
11:00 – Break for elevenses – after 2nd drive.
12:30 – Lunch back at the Shoot Barn – or we can book a fantastic local restaurant or pub
14:00 – Board the gun bus for the final two drives – refreshments are still on board, just in case.
15:45 – Return to the Shoot Barn – tea, coffee and other refreshments and cheese board for those who fancy it.
16:00 – Depart at your leisure.

Half Day Simulated Shoot itinerary:

08:30 – Sausage and bacon butties, tea, coffee and a glass of fizz.
08:45 – Safety Briefing – draw pegs, stock up on cartridges.
09:00 – Board the gun bus for the first of three drives – refreshments on board.
11:00 – Break for refreshments – after 2nd drive. 
12:30 – Lunch at our Shoot Barn – We’ll drop you at the door and you’ll enjoy a warming two course lunch and exceptional service.
14:00 – Stay for a natter and depart at your leisure.

This agreement releases Langham Hall Estate and all its employees from all liability relating to any loss, injuries or damage to property and person that may occur during livery, hire period, or use of facilities on Langham Hall Estate. By signing this agreement, I agree to release Langham Hall Estate from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries or loss incurred.

I also acknowledge the risks involved in equine care, handling, and riding. These include but are not limited to being kicked, bitten, stood on, falling off and falling over. I confirm that I have had suitable training and experience to enable me to confidently and competently participate in the relevant activity at Langham Hall Estate. I am responsible for, and agree to provide and wear safety equipment, including a PAS 015 BSI Kitemarked or equivalent standard riding helmet for any riding activity. I also agree to carry and charged and working mobile phone when riding alone in case of any incident. I am participating voluntarily, and all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, I do not have any conditions that will increase my likelihood of injury whilst engaging in this activity. If there is an exception to this, I have noticed the staff.

By signing below, I forfeit all rights to bring a claim against Langham Hall Estate for any reason. In return, I will receive the livery and/or hire of riding facilities. I will also make every effort to obey safety precautions as made available to me in writing upon request and as explained to me verbally. I will ask for clarification when needed.

• Langham Hall Estate must be made aware of your arrival and departure despite booking slots
• Time slots MUST be stuck to to ensure there are no accidents on the gallop
• There may be other riders on the hacking land at the same time as you
• Cross country fences on the land are not to be jumped under any circumstances
• There is a strong likelihood of farm machinery being on the land
• Walkers/runners have access to much of the hacking land as public footpaths
• Riding tracks around the land must be kept to
• Horses must be cleared up after in the arena and parking area
• Horses must be vaccinated
• Langham Hall Estate recommends that a body protector be worn and/or company is brought on the ground to increase safety

The Simulated Shoot Taster

Langham Hall Estate simulated shoot

Open to all, from complete beginners to more experienced shots.

Cost: £300 – £340 (2 people)
Duration: Approx 2 hours
Available: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
Capacity: 2 guests per session

Includes individual instruction from our qualified instructor and shoot manager (Steve). The experience provides the opportunity to try different shot guns 12, 20 and 28 bore and 410 at a range of clays. Guns, cartridges and tuition all included. Safety equipment (hat, glasses and ear defenders provided). Please ensure you are wearing sturdy walking shoes or wellies, long sleeve tops and trousers.

Festive Simulated Shoot Day

What a festive package we have for you and up to 10 guns. Set in the stunning Dedham Vale National Landscaape, our festive simulated shoot day is tailored for groups of up to 10 guns. You’ll enjoy a mix of five drives over the course of the day. You can expect to shoot over hedges, grassland, water and in woodland. We use the natural elevations on the estate to create challenging and varied sport for all regardless of your experience. The day will be packed with fun and perhaps a few prizes too. The delicious home made food will have a festive theme

15:45 – Return to the Festive Shoot Barn – tea, coffee and other refreshments plus a cheese platter and nibbles for those who fancy it.
16:15 – Stay for a natter and depart at your leisure.
