Background
Proactive management
We’re happy if our customers, visitors and residents are happy. In our case, that means first and foremost looking after the land, our river and valuable wetland, our pastures, woodlands, wildlife, grazing stock, crops and marginal land. If we do that well, then we hope everyone visiting and living on the estate will be able to enjoy it for generations to come.
Regenerative agriculture
As we diversify we are also aiming to improve sustainability. We are working to improve soil health by adopting land management and farming practices that are underpinned by regenerative agriculture principles. More organic matter in our soil, fewer inputs and less disturbance strengthen the health of the soil we rely on and improve our yields.
Carbon neutral
We measure, understand and act on our greenhouse gas emissions. Sustaining and improving on a net-zero carbon footprint helps us build business resilience and success. These commitments positively impact our ability to preserve and – in places – regenerate the landscapes we are responsible for.
