East Lodge is a newly refurbished 1 bed cottage set on the edge of the beautiful Langham Hall Estate. Located in Dedham Vale which offers a delightful blend of cultural, historical, and natural attractions on your doorstep, along with a variety of dining options that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce.
We have also made a paddock available so that you can bring up to four horses (subject to availability). See details at the bottom of this page.

Cosgrove Lodge
Nestled on the edge of historic Coombs woodland in the middle of the estate, Cosgrove Lodge provides an idyllic retreat for couples, families and groups of up to 7 people. This newly refurbished Victorian cottage has four bedrooms: one ensuite master, two doubles (one which can also be a twin on preference) and a single. One of doubles is also downstairs. There are three beautifully appointed bathrooms, a fully-fitted dining kitchen including an honesty bar, wine fridge and coffee machine. The dual aspect, panelled living room with bay window and French doors to outdoor terrace has a fireplace with wood burner, sumptuous furnishing and large smart TV.

Estate Discovery Tour
90 mins – £25 per person (min 2 people)
Enjoy your own personal Estate Tour. Take in all the areas of the Estate usually closed to the public. Pick up from your accommodation in one of our estate 4x4s anytime in the morning from sunrise. Bring the dog and some wellies if you have them. Take in stunning views across the Dedham Vale, get insights into our approach to farming and what diversification means for a rural estate like ours, learn a little about the history of the estate, meet some of our horses and probably some of our wild deer and other wildlife. Refreshments are included.
Clay Pigeon Shooting Experience
2 hrs – £150 inc VAT per person
Open to all, from complete beginners to more experienced shots. Includes pick up from your accommodation at 10am; One to one coaching from our qualified instructor and shoot manager (Steve); the opportunity to try different shot guns: 12,20 and/or 28 bore and 410 at a range of clays; Safety equipment (hat, glasses and ear defenders provided).
Trout and Coarse Fishing Experience
Fishing along 2.5 miles of the south bank of the picturesque River Stour. If you would like some instruction, coaching can be arranged with a qualified instructor through the Colchester Piscatorial Society (subject to availability).
A rod license is required and a day licence will only be valid in season – 16 June to 14 March. A rod licence can be purchased online ahead of your lesson at www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence

Horse Boarding
When you book either cottage you can now bring your horse. We have allocated a paddock for up to four horses for cottage guests.
Facilities include:
• Post and rail fenced paddock (up to 4 horses)
• Automatic drinkers
• Poo picking included
• Unlimited use of Hacking and gallops included (subject to availability of external visitors which can be checked via the website)
£45 per horse per night
All horses must have up to date vaccinations, confirmation of inclusion in up to date worming program and be in good health prior to arrival. Horses must not be in contact with any LHE liveries whilst on site for prevention of disease.
